Reporter Dan Rather explains how he came to interview Iraq President Saddam Hussein after he invaded Kuwait in 1990 and recalls what happened during the meeting. He remembers how he traveled to the Middle East to prepare for the story and ended up interviewing Hussein by himself, using Iraqi crew members instead of his own team. Hussein was President of Iraq from July 16, 1979 to April 9, 2003 and was executed by hanging on December 30, 2006 after being convicted of charges related to the 1982 killing of 148 Iraqi Shi'ites.
