Ex-Iraqi aide Mowaffak al-Rubaie was present at Saddam Hussein's execution on December 30, 2006. He describes what he saw and explains how Hussein was acting as he faced death by hanging. Hussein was the 5th President of Iraq and came to power on July 16, 1979. After crimes against humanity came to light, he was captured on December 13, 2003 and was later executed by hanging after being convicted of charges related to the 1982 killing of 148 Iraqi Shi'ites.
