Reporter Walter Cronkite watches Apollo 8 take-off live and describes what he can feel during the launch from nearby. Cronkite also comments on the successful separation of the rocket from the module. The mission launched on December 21, 1968 and is known for capturing a photo of the first 'Earth Rise' any man had seen. The crew of Apollo 8 returned to Earth on December 27th.
