Howard Carter, the explorer who first excavated King Tut's tomb, unearthing riches that stunned the world, describes first entering the burial chamber. Carter began work on the tomb in 1922 and breached the actual burial chamber on February 16, 1923. King Tut — Pharaoh Tutantkhamun — ruled Egypt from 1332 to 1323 BC.
