Watch the first TV interview with Nelson Mandela, human rights activist and former South African President, recorded in 1961. He describes what Africans really want and explains his hopes for a peaceful integration of the country. Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years starting in 1962 and was inaugurated as President on May 10, 1994. Mandela passed away on December 5, 2013.
