Apolo Anton Ohno, winner of the silver medal in the 2006 Winter Olympic for speed skating, shares what it was like to win the medal that day. In the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, Ohno stumbled during a semifinal heat in the 1500 m. Finishing fifth, he was unable to defend his 2002 gold medal in the event. In this first person account, Ohno remembers feeling disappointed but support from his father allowed him to come to terms with his achievement. The 2006 Winter Olympics, also known as the XX Olympic Winter Games, began on February 10 and ended on February 26.
