The day before President Woodrow Wilson's inauguration, women and men marched down Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. for the Woman Suffrage Parade on March 3, 1913. It was organized by the suffragist Alice Paul as a "protest against the present political organization of society, from which women are excluded," and garnered a lot of national attention on the need for women's voting rights.
