On March 19, 1953 Bob Hope's monologue went down in history as the opening for the first ever televised Academy Awards. Memorable wins at the 25th Oscars include Best Picture for Cecil B. DeMille's 'The Greatest Show on Earth,' five awards for 'The Bad and the Beautiful' and an honorary Academy Award for Hope himself.
