Henry Kissinger, Richard Nixon's national security assistant, discusses what it was like to win TIME magazine's Person of the Year award in 1972. He recalls the precarious position it put him in to be honored on the same level as the current President of the United States and shares his first person account of hearing about his win. Kissinger also comments on the current state of the countries he used to work with and shares his thoughts on the 2008 TIME Person of the Year nominees. The first TIME Person of the Year award went to aviator Charles Lindbergh in 1927.
