Julian Bond: “This is why we march, this is why we protest”

Julian Bond explains what it was like for many of the March on Washington attendees to hear Martin Luther King, Jr. speak on August 28, 1963. This was the first time many Americans were informed of the full list of injustices they faced. Bond is a civil rights icon and was director of communications for SNCC at the time of the March.
