A survivor of Typhoon Haiyan tells the story of a woman she met at a relief site that lost her children and family in the disaster. The survivor’s first person account shows that the young woman had lost her family to the Typhoon and only hopes to have proper graves for them. Typhoon Haiyan, known as Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines, was an exceptionally powerful tropical cyclone that devastated portions of Southeast Asia, particularly the Philippines, in early November 2013. It is the deadliest Philippine typhoon on record, killing at least 6,166 people in that country alone.
